any information as to his guilt? Did he confess to some crime? If not, then his Miranda rights are irrelevant. Miranda rights cases usually involve someone making self-incriminating statements or confessions before they have been notified of their rights. Those are the only situations I'm aware of where someone might get a confession thrown out of court. AND, this does not negate any other information or evidence the police have collected. In this particular case, the paraphernalia doesn't simply disappear even if your friend made a pre-Miranda confession. Now perhaps if the paraphernalia was not notified of its rights.....no, nevermind.
